Information You Submit
Search Terms
When a name, county, state, or other search detail is entered into a search tool on this site, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. San Juan County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or other contact message, the message and any contact details included with it may be kept long enough to review and respond. Those messages are not shared outside the organization except when required by law, a valid legal order, or a necessary service provider.
Information Collected Automatically
Routine technical information may be collected when pages load or when a browser interacts with the site. That information helps operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name, version, and settings.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on those pages.
- Referring website or search engine, when available.
- Date and time stamps for visits and requests.
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used to understand site traffic, remember technical preferences, measure advertising, and see which pages visitors use. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some features or partner tools may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep pages available, responsive, and secure.
- To send search requests to the appropriate partner service.
- To understand which San Juan County custody and records pages are being used.
- To detect technical errors, abuse, or broken links.
- To display advertising that may be based on general interests or browsing context.
Outside Websites
This site links to resources such as the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, San Juan County open-records information, La Plata County Detention Facility pages, VINELink, CDOC, BOP, ICE, Colorado Judicial Branch pages, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination site's privacy policy and terms control that visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and show targeted ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's technology and privacy rules, not through an official San Juan County or Colorado government system.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a standalone mailing list or contact list. It may be available to limited parties that help operate, measure, or legally protect the site.
- Search partners that process a query submitted through a search tool.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver and measure ads.
- Law-enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, or other government bodies when a subpoena, court order, legal demand, or similar requirement applies. Colorado public-records laws such as CORA, C.R.S. 24-72-201 to 206, apply to government records, not to make this private site an official custodian.
Security Practices
Reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards are used to protect information handled by the site. No website, email system, search partner, or internet-connected service can be guaranteed to be breach-proof or error-free.

Your Choices and Rights
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the site, if any.
